Global Entrepreneurship Research and Innovation Centre (GERIC) was officially launched by Dato’ Sri Mohamed Khaled bin Nordin, Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia on 19 July 2012. GERIC commenced its operation in UMK Office Taman Teknologi Malaysia’s Campus from 2012 till 2014. Beginning 1 September 2015, GERIC moved to UMK’s Kota Campus, Pengkalan Chepa, Kelantan.

Since its official establishment, GERIC is awarded with Centre of Excellent (CoE) status for Entrepreneurship Research and Innovation in UMK.  As an entrepreneurship CoE, GERIC brings creativity and innovation into the core of its research activities through engagement and partnership with community, business, public sector and international. GERIC plays a distinctive role in the development, application and exchange of knowledge globally, regionally and locally.

Currently, we are putting more efforts, improving and strengthening GERIC’s functions, operational and management, with the main aim to strive for Higher Learning Centre of Excellent (Hi-CoE) status by 2018.
